
Phyllis Kay Dykes, 83, of Terre Haute, passed away at IU West Hospital, on April 13, 2024.
Phyllis was born on September 28, 1940, in Vigo County the daughter of Clyde and Florence (Denehie) Farrand. She graduated from Prairie Creek High School with the class of 1958. She worked at Bemis for many years.
She was a great animal lover. She also enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles. Phyllis also enjoyed square dancing and taught square dancing lessons for many years.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents Clyde and Florence Farrand; her husband Billy Lee Dykes; siblings: Donald Reed and Jack Reed.
She is survived by her children: Kevin Lee Dykes and wife Carol, Jeffrey Dykes and wife Dana, Jenetta Rea and husband Dustin, and Anthony Dykes; grandchildren: Kevin Dykes II and wife Alison, Joshua Dykes and wife Amy, Norrin Rea, and Tilly Rea; great-grandchldren: Alexandra Dykes, Audrey Dykes, Joshua Dykes, Steven Likens, Shawn Likens, and Shaylan Elizabeth; great-great-grandchildren: Phoenix Witham and Athena Wildes as well as many extended family member.
Visitation will be at French Funeral Home, 421 E. National Ave. Brazil, Indiana 47834, on April 17, 2024, from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM. Services will be held at noon with burial to follow at West Lawn Cemetery, in Prairie Creek, Indiana.
