
John Thomas Cummins, 70, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away on March 27, 2024. He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, on January 4, 1954, to Lawrence Cummins and Evelyn Louise (Greer) Cummins. He was a resident of Terre Haute for 30 plus years and a resident of Florida for 12 years. John had a strong faith and was a messenger for the Lord. He donated to many charities, with the most recent one making lasagna for an organization called Lasagna Love. He was a member of Maryland Community Church, 12 Points Campus. John was a loyal “True Blue” employee for both Culver’s stores in Terre Haute since 2019. He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother. He loved the Indianapolis Colts, karaoke, cooking and serving the Lord. He is survived by his biological child: Liberty Valmore (grandchildren) Jonathon Moon, Jessica Tomey, Ronnie Cook (great-grandchildren) Maisy, Janie Mae, Letti Sue, Gracie, Levi, Penny; Step-children: Amy (Laponsie) Bobbitt (grandchildren) Eli Bobbitt, Victoria, Gabe, Teena LaPonsie, Andy LaPonsie; siblings Larry and Deann Cummins in Texas, Mike and Irene Cummins in Missouri ; also survived are close friend Tom Hutsell and special friend Kim Wheeler of Jacksonville Florida He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings Mary Lou McCann, Johanna Saunders, Catherine Cummins, and Patty Hutsell. A Celebration of Life is being held on June 21st at 1 PM at Maryland Community Church 12 points location. There will be a private gathering for family members held after the celebration. Daughter is asking for letters containing your favorite memories with/about her father instead of flower arrangements.
