Ruth Laverne Ford, 91, of Terre Haute, passed away June 7, 2024 in Terre Haute Regional Hospital. Ruth was born June 29, 1932 in Omaha Nebraska to George DeLespine and Laverne Marvel DeLespine.
She was a member of Second Missionary Baptist Church where she was very involved in many aspects of the church. She enjoyed spending time outdoors and walks around the neighborhood visiting with her neighbors, she also enjoyed visiting Casino’s. Most importantly she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren who referred to her as Gee Gee.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters; Shirley Mc Laurine, Leanne Summons and Marvel Woods. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph T. Ford who passed away August of 2019.
She is survived by two daughters; Kathaleene Pierce (Darryl) of Indianapolis, and Terese Ford Bishop of Terre Haute, she is survived by two sons; Joseph T. Ford III of Terre Haute, and Randy Ford of Atlanta. She is survived by a special Granddaughter, Melanie Sibley who they considered a daughter to her. She is survived by a sister, Marcia Butler, by eleven grandchildren, several great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Services are Wednesday June 12, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th St. Terre Haute, IN 47804. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the Funeral Home.
