Phil Joe Beckelhymer passed peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Sunday, November 20th, 2022.
He was born on October 23, 1951, in Danville, Illinois to Rosemarie (Ellis) and Joe Junior Beckelhymer.

Phil grew up in Fountain County, Indiana with his mother and stepfather, Ramon Sutherlin, after his father’s passing. He was a 1970 graduate of Fountain Central High School.

Phil was a faithful and devoted man of God. He was compassionate, wise, and had the best sense of humor. He loved to bake and care for his garden. Phil remained a devoted Cubs fan, regardless of marrying into a Cardinal’s family. He loved spending time with his two cats, Toby and Grace.

Phil recently retired after working for the city of Terre Haute in the traffic control division. He was IMSA vice president for 13 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents; stepfather; infant sister; and chihuahua of 19 years, Abby.

Phil is survived by his wife of 12 years, Pamela Beckelhymer; stepdaughter Tanya (Tom) Fuson; stepson Nick Brueggeman; granddaughters, Heidi Fuson (Derek Christensen) and Emma Fuson (Pete Burns); sisters, Sue (John) Ratcliff and Jane (Richard) York; daughter, Katie; niece, Tina; and nephews: Tim, Brad, and Brian.

Private services are being planned.
