Jo Ann “Judy” Van Arsdale Dillon Wells, 85, of Terre Haute, passed away March 1, 2023 at Westminster Village. Judy was born June 5, 1937 in Terre Haute to Paul Van Arsdale Sr. and Dorothy Allen Van Arsdale.

Judy was a 1955 graduate of Wiley High School. Judy was a long time employee at The Holiday Inn of Terre Haute, working there for over 43 years. She was a consummate homemaker and a woman of strong faith. She was a long time member of Methodist Temple and a former member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist. Judy was also a highly skilled, self-taught knitter and crocheter. Through her association with Mt Pleasant “Yarn Spinners”, she knitted and crocheted sweaters and blankets for overseas orphans. Everyone loved her knitted cotton dish clothes and holiday cookies. She was a long time race fan and spent many a summer traveling to Sprint car races to watch her bother race. She loved roller skating and riding her bike.  Judy was one of the most generous people around, almost to a fault. She never met a stranger, making friends wherever she went. First and foremost, she loved her family.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Van Arsdale Jr. and a daughter, Dorothy Denise Dillon. Judy is survived by her daughter: Patty Dillon, of Plainfield, IN, three sons: Timothy Dillon, of Farmersburg, IN, Pete Dillon of Terre Haute, IN, and David Wells of Cumming, GA, as well as four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren with another on the way, and one nephew, Kevin Van Arsdale. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
