Jack Scott Cheesman

Our angel, Jack Cheesman, 30, of Terre Haute, Indiana, has gone to be with our lord Jesus Christ after a long battle with addiction. Jack was born on May 14, 1992 to Jimmie Joe Cheesman Sr. and Denise Whittington. Jacks last wishes were to join his father in heaven and on March 22, 2023, his last wishes were fulfilled by our heavenly father and Jack was finally reunited with his dad in heaven as he wished.

Jack was an amazing father who loved his children more than life. Jack loved his family and friends, and could always put a smile on a face. Jack was always known for making anyone laugh with his great sense of humor. He was definitely “one of a kind” no doubt!

Jack enjoyed collecting die-cast cars, was crazy about racing, Pittsburgh Steelers, and loved to “Stay Fresh!” Beneath it all, including his many battle with addiction, Jack had a heart of gold and loved hard even when he was “hard to love!” He stood on the five P’s, and that’s On the G!

Jack leaves behind two children, a daughter, Jacklynn Marie Cheesman (10), a son, Mason Scott Cheesman (2); his wife and mother of his son, Rhiannon Cheesman, and his childhood love and the mother of his daughter, Savannah Harvey; and a lifelong friend of many years, Falisha Brennon, all of Terre Haute.

Jack is survived by his mother, Denise Soliday (Lonnie); 3 brothers, Jimmie Cheesman Jr. (Patsy), Anthony Cheesman & Jimmy Barrett; 2 sisters, April Booker (Doug) & Angela Cheesman. Also including several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and many friends.

Funeral Services will be held at Greiner Funeral Home, located at 2005 N 13th St, Terre Haute, IN, on Tuesday, March 28, 2023. Showing will start at 12pm – 1pm, showing will be followed by 1 hour of series with Pastor Sean Batson officiating. Cremation will follow after showing and services.

Due to this unexpected tragedy, our family is asking in lieu of flowers, donations are welcome and would be greatly appreciated. As we all know, when a situation as such happens, we never are expecting of it and most certainly unprepared for such.

We would like to take a moment, asking everyone to recite the Serenity Prayer for our loved one ‘Jack’ and all addicts who may still be battling with addiction:

God grant me the serenity, to accept the things I cannot change. The courage to change the things I can. And the wisdom to know the difference.

Just for today… just for Jack… Amen.
