ROCKVILLE – On the afternoon of April 28 at approximately 5:30 p.m. the Rockville Police
Department and the Parke County Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle on US Hwy 41 just
north of Sassafras Dr.

Officers saw Drew Burger, 33, of Rockville, in the passenger seat of the vehicle. Burger was wanted on a Parole Violation Warrant out of
Indiana. During the stop, Burger would not comply with commands from law enforcement. Burger would forcibly take the keys from the driver and ultimately steal the
vehicle and flee from law enforcement.

Burger fled north on US Hwy 41 reaching speeds of approximately 100 miles per hour in moderate traffic. Burger lead officers
through Marshall, Indiana. During the chase, Burger threw suspected methamphetamine
from the vehicle.

Burger finally was taken into custody in the 4800 block of Cr 350 N after crashing the stolen vehicle. During the search of the vehicle law enforcement recovered approximately 43 grams of suspected methamphetamine. Officers also found items related to the illegal distribution of drugs as well as drug paraphernalia. The suspected methamphetamine also tested positive for fentanyl.

Burger is being held in the Parke County Jail on multiple felony charges and a parole warrant. Burger is held without bond.

The Rockville Police Department would like to thank the Parke County Sheriff’s Office for assistance in apprehending Burger.
