Jack L. Archer, 79 of West Terre Haute, passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2023 in his residence, surrounded by his family. He was born in Terre Haute on April 20, 1944 to Jack and Bernice Deal Archer.

Jack was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps having proudly served in the Vietnam War and was an engineer for Conrail. He was a life member of VFW Post # 972, longtime officer and member of American Legion Post # 104, and managed a Little League team in West Terre Haute for many years.

Jack is survived by his wife Nancy Parsons Archer whom he married October 13, 1967 and their three children; Lee-Ann Terrill (Mike), Jackie “Lucky” Archer II (Donna), and Andy Archer (Becka), five grandsons; Michael Terrill (Cali), Jackie Archer III (Cheyanne), Matthew Terrill (Kayla), Andy Archer, Jr., Tony Archer, and a granddaughter, Brooke Archer (Cory), and nine great grandchildren. Also surviving is his brother, Gary Archer (Ramona), and four sisters; Dorothy Richey (Vernon), Linda Fisher, Nancy Bell (Jerry), and Jerrie Archer, a sister-in-law, Jeane Parsons, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter Casey Dawn Archer, mother-in-law and Father-in-law Thelma and Clarence Parsons, and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Funeral services will be held at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd St., West Terre Haute, IN on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at 1:00 PM, with Chaplain Mark Sellers officiating. Burial will follow in Bethesda Memorial Park. Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM in the funeral home. The family would like to thank Brooke, Shannon, Julia, and Jamie from VNA / Hospice of the Wabash Valley and his doctors and nurses, especially Dr. Chua, Dr. Chakrabarti, and Dr. Deshpande for the care given to Jack throughout the years.
