Trust for America’s Health (TFAH) and their The State of Obesity: Better Policies for a Healthier America . The annual report provides state-by-state rankings of adult obesity rates, information on trends by region, age, gender and ethnicity, and policy recommendations for local and state government.

This year the U.S. adult obesity rate passed the 40 percent mark for the first time, standing at 42.4 percent – the highest ever recorded, an increase of 26 percent since 2008.

Indiana ranks 12th on the list. Reha Farberman talks about the study.

Why are gas and diesel prices at record highs? This weekend on Focus on the Community, we get an insider’s perspective on pricing, supply, and demand. Dave Crooks from the DLC Media News Center interviews Scot Imus. Scot is Executive Director of the Indiana Food and Fuel Association. He was born and raised in northeast Indiana and graduated from Indiana University. For over 20 years, he lived in Washington, DC spending the first ten years working on Capitol Hill and the other ten as a lobbyist for the truck stop industry. Scot returned to Indiana in June 2003 when he joined what was then the Indiana Petroleum Marketers and Convenience Store Association. Scot frequently testifies before the Indiana General Assembly regarding industry issues and is sought after on a regular basis by the media for comments regarding gas prices.
