
In loving memory of Ruth B. Tiefel, 91, of Clay City, Indiana who went to be with our Lord on April 19, 2024.
She was born on June 14, 1932, to Frank and Catherine (Brown) Tiefel.
Ruth worked for Roudebush VA Hospital, in Indianapolis, Indiana for 49 years as an Administrative Assistant and retired in 2000. Ruth loved to travel and some of her hobbies, when she would come home on the weekends, were riding horses and 3 and 4 wheelers. She hosted many of their family gatherings and was known for her multi-colored Angel Food Cake with Dream Whip Icing.
Ruth is preceded in death by her siblings: Maxine Ream (Chester), Jim Tiefel (Thelma), Bill Tiefel (Laurena), Jack Tiefel, and an infant brother who passed in infancy; nieces and nephews: Karen Keiser, Arless Larkin, Steve Ream, Joe Tiefel, Vic Tiefel, and Jim Lell.
Survivors include her sister-in-law Patty Tiefel (Jack’s widow); nieces and nephews: Peggy Booe (Bill), Joyce Tiefel (Joe’s widow), Linda Larkin, Norma Ream (Steve’s widow), Bonnie Lell (Jim’s widow), Tony Tiefel (Brenda), Lisa Reed, and Rick Tiefel (Tammy).
Visitation will be at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home, 301 E. Eighth St. Clay City, Indiana 47841, on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Services will follow at 1:00 PM with Pastor Bob Dickey officiating. Burial will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery.
