Anna Louise Danielson Hill, 100, of Terre Haute, passed away Tuesday May 28, 2024 in her residence surrounded by her family. She was born July 10, 1923 in Centerville, South Dakota to Gustor Danielson and Jennie Johnson Danielson. In 1941 her father moved the family to Northern Indiana. She was baptized into the Dalesburg South Dakota Lutheran Church on September 20, 1923 and in 1938 was confirmed in the same church. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church for over 40 years , most recently she was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Her first career was as a beautician and later a secretary for US Steel; thereafter she worked for R.J. Builders and was a Greeting Card Representative. She was most importantly a homemaker to her husband and family. She enjoyed volunteering at church and especially enjoyed taking oil painting classes. She was a proud Den Mother for her three sons and Girl Scout Leader for her daughter’s troop. She enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles in her spare time as well as photography. She picked up photography when she was 8 yrs old. Throughout her life she made several photo albums for friends and family. She loved writing in her journal and wrote her autobiography. She enjoyed camping and traveling to almost all 50 states. After her husband, William Leslie, whom she married on May 20, 1950 passed, she took numerous trips to Virginia, DC and Arizona sightseeing and visiting relatives. Most important to her was church and worshiping her Lord. She was thankful for her wonderful life, her family and especially her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband William Leslie Hill who passed June 12, 1993, son, Michael Lee Hill, and daughter, Susan Marie Hill, two brothers; Roland and Robert Danielson, sister, Elaine Mills and her husband Glen and their son Craig. A sister in-law; Marilyn Kolb and her husband Carter. She is survived by two sons; Jeffrey of Florida and Matthew (Debbie) of Terre Haute. A sister in-law, Jeanette Danielson and grandchildren; Alex Hill, Erin Hill, Gina Hill and Audrey Pink. Nephews; Doug Mills (Cindy), Tim Danielson (Athalie), and Chris Kolb (Sheila), grand nephews; John and David, and grand nieces; Gracie and Rosie. Memorial Services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday June 4, 2024 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2620 Ohio Blvd, Terre Haute, IN 47803. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. noon until service time.
