Veronica Marie Ashley, 62, of Terre Haute passed away Tuesday evening, June 18, 2024.  She was born January 10, 1962 in Terre Haute to Victor T. Ashley, Sr. and Shirley A. Philpott Ashley.

Survivors include her husband, Russell Gayheart;  her sons, John Willis (Tiffany) of Clinton, IN and James Willis (Kessiah) of French Lick, IN;  five grandchildren, Madilyn, Greyson, Owen, Willow and Bryar;  brother, Richard Ashley;  and nephew, Austin Ashley.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Victor T. and Shirley Ashley;  grandparents, Carl and Betty Ashley;  and brothers, Carl E. Ashley and Victor T. Ashley, Jr.

Veronica worked in health care as a private duty nurse.  She loved being with her grandchildren whom she “loved to the moon and back”, was an “Elvis” fan, enjoyed working in the garden and was very patriotic to her country.  Some of her favorite times were with family on visits to Tybee Island, Georgia.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, June 26, 2024 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street, with Pastor Tim Voorhees officiating.  Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.  Visitation will be prior to services from 1:00-2:00 PM in the funeral home.
