Debra Kay Baker (Deb), born October 5, 1957, passed away on April 18, 2020 at the age of 62. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2020, at

1 o’clock p.m at Highland Lawn Cemetery.

Deb was preceded in death by her mother, June Isabell Elkins; father, James Lee Elkins; brother, James Edward Hogue; and sister, Cornelia Marie Elkins-Brenton.

Debra is survived by six (6) daughters, June (Jimmy) Robinson, Debra (Steve) McCalister, Diana (Eric) Goucher, Makinzie Baker, Gracie Baker, and Kinlie Baker; two (2) sons, Steven Wright Jr., and Mason Baker.

She is also survived by three (3) sisters, Cindy Montgomery, June Theisz and Mary Hogue; one (1) brother, Darren Elkins; seven (7) grandchildren, Taylor Montgomery, Kelly Fitzsimmons Jr., Peyton Fitzsimmons, Alexandria McCalister, Kendall McCalister, Stevie McCalister and Parker Robinson; two (2) great-grandchildren, Evelynn Fitzsimmons and Emmett Hohenstein; and three (3) additional special little ones, Alexis Carter, Amyah Carter and Zaiden Carter; and several nieces, nephews and other family members.

Deb’s life’s work was spent caring for and protecting children. Altogether, she has given birth to, raised, fostered, and/or adopted twelve (12) children in her lifetime. Although her work on this earth is now done, the effects of her love and dedication will carry on for many lifetimes to come.

In addition to her love of children, Debra enjoyed camping, cookouts, vacationing with her children and hosting celebrations where she loved to sing and dance. Debra had a great fondness of music and had her own microphone to serenade her family during parties and celebrations.

Debra was a truly remarkable woman and accomplished so many great things in her life. She is dearly loved, and she will be forever missed. The family has entrusted care and arrangements to Greiner Funeral Home.
