VIGO COUNTY, Ind – Thursday evening an open hearing was held by the Vigo County School Board to take comments on the proposed compensation contract for the new superintendent of Vigo County Schools.
The hearing lasted for about a half hour as there were only a few comments that were split between those who thought it was too much while there were those who thought it was a competitive package.
Board President Jackie Lower said that the proposed contract was a little less than the current contract for Superintendent Dan Tanoos.
Cut 14 Lower compared
When asked about criticism that the process wasn’t transparent, Lower disagreed:
Cut 23 criticism not fair
Cut 21 transparent and pleased
As it looks now, Dr Robert Haworth will be voted in to be the next superintendent on June 11th.
I asked president Lower about some board members expressing some dissatisfaction on the process and if there was a chance Dr Haworth might not be voted in…she wasn’t’ sure if it would be unanimous but…
Cut 03 a majority
A chance for the public to meet Dr. Haworth will be held next Monday from 5-7 at the school corporation administration building on Wabash Avenue.
