TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – A Terre Haute man arrested after a Saturday night scuffle with police made his first appearance in court Tuesday.
Police say they tried to arrest 27-year-old Nicholas Loffredo last Saturday night in the area of 16th Street and 6th Avenue on a warrant.
Officers say that he actively resisted and that is when a handgun fell to the ground from Loffredo.
The serial number on the gun had been tampered with.
Loffredo remains the Vigo County Jail and returns to court for another hearing on Friday.
