Indiana– Be sure to find your fishing license, because trout season is upon us.

Thousands of trout will be available to Indiana fishers starting at 6 a.m. Saturday, April 27.

The Department of Natural Resources will stock over 20,000 rainbow trout in 17 streams across 12 counties.

In order to preserve the trout, certain streams will be closed to all fishing from now until opening day.

Each fisher can only catch up to five trout a day. No more than one of these can be a brown trout.

Anglers 18 and older need an Indiana fishing license and trout/salmon stamp to fish for trout.
