Robert G. Royer, 93, of Clay City, Indiana passed away, peacefully, on May 7, 2020 due to conditions unrelated to COVID – 19.

He was born on January 20, 1927, in Clay City, Indiana the son of Titus and Edith (Adkins) Royer.

A Navy veteran of World War II, he was in the Amphibious Division, USS INDRA ARL 37, serving in both the Atlantic and Pacific theatres. He worked several years at the Allison Division of General Motors. He retired from farming in 1989 and was an elected director of the Federal Land Bank Association.

His memberships include New Hope Baptist Church, in Clay City, Masonic Lodge 597 F & AM of Center Point, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Terre Haute, Plank Owner Member, Mobile Riverine Force Association and a former member of the VFW Post 1127. His hobbies include Lapidary and Silversmith. In his early years he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Surviving are his 3 daughters: Dianna Harstine, Robin Royce and husband James of Terre Haute, and Tammy Morse and husband Joel of Linton; grandchildren: Lori Moon, Amy Ennen (Brad), Rob Horton (Resa), Casey Horton (Jennifer), Eric Morse (Kristen), and Kiley Edwards (Chris); great-grandchildren Katie Sanders (Bram), Chloey Ennen, Mason Horton, Grant Horton, Bryce Horton, Bryar Horton, Ava McCrary, Carter Morse, Jake McCrary, Levi Morse, Luke Edwards, and Karly Morse; a sister Ruth Hester; a brother Richard Royer; mother of his children Peggy Latham; as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Titus and Edith Royer; wife Lenore Royer; a son-in-law Larry Harstine; a brother Tom Royer.
