
Carolyn Sue Schauwecker, 71, of Clay City, Indiana passed away at home, unexpectedly, on May 30, 2020.
She was born on October 1, 1948, in Indianapolis, Indiana the daughter of William “Bill” and Wilma (Davis) Hunter. She graduated from Worthington High School then attended beauty school. Carolyn married Larry Schauwecker on June 25, 1967. Carolyn worked as a beauty operator in Worthington at Billie’s Style Shop for several years. She started her own business, The Finished Look, in Clay City in which she worked for many years.
She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the Order of the Eastern Star.
Carolyn loved spending time with her family – especially her grandkids. She also enjoyed going to flea markets, working on crafts, making jewelry, and flower gardening.
She is survived by her husband Larry Schauwecker whom she married on June 25, 1967. She is also survived by her daughter Tammy Forsythe of Clay City, her son Terry Schauwecker and wife Julie of Clay City, grandchildren: Damien Schauwecker, Dustin Schauwecker, Madison Schauwecker, Shanelle Forsythe, and Jerry Forsythe; great-grandchildren: Braedon Schauwecker and Aubrey Wilson and a brother Rick Hunter.
Visitation will be at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home, 301 East Eighth Street Clay City, Indiana 47841, on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 from noon until 3pm.
