
Laura Suzanne Steenerson, 40, of Terre Haute, went home to be with Jesus on Saturday, June 6, 2020, at Indiana University Health Methodist. Laura was born in Goshen on Oct. 2, 1979, to Karl Sommers and Roxanna Bontrager Sommers. She was co-owner of First Choice Cab in Terre Haute. She was also a blogger known for her humorous take on life, her cats and mental health issues, with a focus on encouragement and encouraging others to trust in Christ. She attended Maryland Community Church.
Laura is survived by her husband, Chad Steenerson of Terre Haute, whom she married July 27, 2013; her parents of Goshen; two sisters, Hannah Sommers and Kathryn Sommers, both of Washington D.C.; nieces and nephews, Noah, Zona, Reuben and Rosemary; her mother-in-law, Charlotte Steenerson of Terre Haute; special family, Mike and Judah Jupin of Louisville and their children, Blair and Lorelei, and Brooke Dunning of Terre Haute and her children Brandon and Tarah; best friends, Adam and Sarah Krackenbenber and Sarah Emenecker; and her precious cats, Phoebe and Riley.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, with visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be at Highland Lawn Cemetery, with pastor Scot Longyear officiating. A video copy of the service will also be available afterward for anyone who cannot attend. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Council on Domestic Abuse, Attn: Karen Ketner, 26 S. 17th Street, Terre Haute, IN 47807, and it is requested that Laura’s name be included on the memo line.
