Joanne Nance, 82, of Brazil, Indiana passed away on June 14, 2020, at Exceptional Living Center of Brazil.

She was born on October 30, 1937, in Vigo County, Indiana the daughter of Morris and Kathleen (Hayes) Adams. She graduated from East Glenn High School with the class of 1955. She and her husband Bobby Nance owned and operated Nance’s Dairy Farm for many years. In her younger years she worked as a waitress and at Bemis and Donnelly’s in Terre Haute.

She was an avid collector of cow figurines. She also enjoyed attending the Covered Bridge Festival, “yard selling”, and gardening.

Joanne was a member of the Brazil Church of the Nazarene and the Order of Eastern Star.

Joanne was preceded in death by her parents Morris and Kathleen Adams; her husband Bobby Nance whom she married on April 7, 1956; her son Ronald Joe Nance; and her sister Becky Wagle.

She is survived by her son Robby Nance and wife Michelle of Brazil; grandchildren: Wendy Thacker and husband Ron of Brazil, Rusty Nance and fiancé Heather Boutwell, Stacey Nance, and Steven Nance and fiancé Pam Padan; great-grandchildren: Krista Lawhorn, Lisa Stankovich and husband Nick, Levi Nance, Kaylynn Nance, and Olivia Nance; a great-great-grandson Beckham Stankovich; nephews: Randy Wagle, Terry Wagle, and Greg Wagle.

Visitation will be at French Funeral Home, 421 E. National Ave. Brazil, Indiana 47834, on Thursday, June 18, 2020 from noon until 3:00pm. Services will be at the funeral home at 3:00pm with Pastor Marlin Betts officiating. Burial will follow at Bee Ridge Cemetery. Visit www.frenchfuneralhome.com to light a candle in her memory.
