TERRE HAUTE, Ind – A plea agreement hearing for a Vigo County man Tuesday.
22-year-old Kyle Mulkins faces a felony charge of criminal confinement for allegedly after taking his estranged wife at gunpoint from Harrold’s Beauty Academy near downtown Terre Haute and driving with her to Farmersburg in August 2017.
The woman was able to escape, and Mulkins later surrendered to police after a standoff at a Farmersburg residence.
The plea deal calls for a sentence of no more than 10 years and the dropping of additional charges of invasion of privacy, criminal recklessness, kidnapping, and domestic battery.
The defense raised objections about some witness statements being introduced during the hearing which the judge has now continued to April 17.
