William G. Neier, 80, lifelong resident of Brazil, Indiana, passed away, at home, on August 11, 2020 following an extended illness.

Bill was born on October 5, 1939, in Brazil, Indiana the son of Gaylord and Harriet (Blair) Neier. He graduated from Brazil High School with the class of 1957. Bill worked as a farmer most of his life. He also worked at West Dairy from 1958 to 1984 and then Growers Co-Op from May 1, 1984 until January 31, 2003.

Bill enjoyed traveling to Florida, Hawaii, and California amongst several other areas. He especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren sporting and extracurricular activities. Bill also enjoyed trips down “memory lane”, conversing and remembering family events – often with photos.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents: Gaylord and Harriet Neier; Karon Neier whom he married November 2, 1979; and a brother Rick Neier; granddaughter Tiffany Spugnardi; and a daughter-in-law Linda Neier.

He is survived by his 3 children: Michel Patterson and husband Bob of Terre Haute, Maria Tyler and husband Rick of Brazil, and Marc Neier (Lori) of Brazil; Stephanie (Mike) Byrer, Andy Spugnardi (Katie), Brittney Spugnardi (Adnan), Ryan Patterson (Montica), John Robert Patterson (Andie), Jeff Long (Anita), Sandy Hine (Brook), Lacey Pearson (Adam), and Kyle Brown (Tara); great-grandchildren: Sophie Byrer, Ellie Byrer, Fynnlee Byrer, Jacob Spugnardi, Jaxson Spugnardi, Lenix Patterson, Gavin Pingleton, Blake Pingleton, Austyn Pingleton, Kaden Long, Hadley Pearson, Ellie Brown, and Maddie Brown; two brothers David Neier and Randy Neier; as well as several extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be at Lawson – Miller Chapel, 1702 E. National Ave. Brazil, Indiana 47834, on Friday, August 14, 2020 from 4-8pm. Services will be at the funeral home, on Saturday, at 10am. Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery.
