Ada Mae(Thompson)Schommer of Paris,IL  passed away Wed Oct 28th in Terre Haute IN.  Ada was born Nov 10, 1944 in Hickory Plain, AR the daughter of John W. Thompson and Oreana(Harrison) Thompson.  The family moved to Paris, IL where Ada attended School and was an avid Roller Skater.  Later moving to Terre Haute, IN marrying Larry D. Schommer they were active with the Shriners and Masonic Organization.  Ada has worked in the healthcare field as a Social Worker and Activities Direcotors at Vigo County Home and Meadows Manor North and several other nursing facilities.  She loved to play the piano and organ at home, work and area churches.  She was active with Greenwood Baptist Church of Terre Haute.  Ada loved animals and family and grandchildren.  Ada is survived by Daughters Melinda”Susie”(Reese)Roberts of Terre Haute, IN,  Bobbie(Mears)Arrasmith of Paris, IL, Step daughters Liz(Schommer)Shaw of Rockville, IN, Glenda(Schommer)Mark Reedy of Terre Haute, IN, 9 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, sister Laurabelle(Thompson)Mullins of Paris, IL.  Ada was preceded in death by her parents, husband Larry, Stepson David Schommer, and 3 grandchildren.  Funeral services are scheduled for Monday November 2nd, 2020 at 3:00pm Indiana time at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 N. 13th St. Terre Haute, IN  47804.  Visitation will be from 1:00pm until service time.   Memorial Donations can be made to area Shrine Clubs
