John Joseph Keegan, 65 of Terre Haute, formerly of Brazil, passed away December 12, 2020 at 2:00am at Terre Haute Regional Hospital due to complications from Covid-19. He was born June 24, 1955 in Vigo County, the son of Gerald and Margaret Helen Curley Keegan. He graduated from Schulte High School. He was a life-long member of Annunciation Catholic Church.

John worked in the Environmental Services Department at Indiana State University for over 30 years. John was a man with a big heart and quietly helped those in need. He was a devoted son, brother, and uncle.

Survivors include his brother James Keegan and his wife Susan of Knightsville; two sisters, Marilyn Ferree and husband Homer of Sellersburg, IN, and Mary McDonald of Brazil; 10 nieces and nephews Amy Keegan Vincent, Rebecca Keegan Campbell, Michael Keegan, Kevin Ferree, Danielle Ferree Yanez, Tim Ferree, Melisse Ferree Gladwell, Ashley McDonald Young, Katherine McDonald and Keegan McDonald; 16 great-nieces and nephews and other extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald, and Helen Keegan; and one brother-in-law, Fritz McDonald.

Prayer service will be held Thursday at 11:00 at French Funeral Home with Father Michael Fritsch officiating. Burial of ashes will follow at Clearview Cemetery. Visitation with be one hour prior to service. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations be directed to the Clay County Humane Shelter or to the Sisters of Providence.
