Norval Charles “Chuck” Dwayne Pickett, 66, of Brazil, Indiana passed away at home on December 10, 2020 following a brief illness. He was born in Brazil on January 9, 1954.

A 1972 graduate of Staunton High School, Chuck later followed in his father’s footsteps working as a coal miner running heavy equipment. He was employed by Amax Coal Company, in Evansville, where he had made his home for many years before returning to his hometown of Brazil after retirement.

Chuck was preceded in death by his father, Robert L. Pickett, a brother, Robert H. Pickett and daughter, Tonya Pickett.

Survivors include his wife, Kimberly Pickett and three stepchildren, Kyle and Emma Konecny and Joshua Barnett; a daughter, Jennifer Cobbs and husband Jamel of Tennessee; his mother, Judie Pickett; four sisters: Terri Laughlin and her husband Tom of Linton; Tracey Giffin and her husband James of Mexico; Schellie Saddoris and her partner Tony Stephens of Alaska; and Freddie Pickett of Brazil. He is also survived by four grandchildren: Ja’Mauri Cobbs, Davon, Deja’, and Dominique Kelley and nine nieces and nephews: Courtney Horning, Josh Lee, Lynnlee Baysinger, Calvin Pickett, Ethan Reinoehl, Ellie Langley, Elliott Koenig, Kylee Walton, and Emilee Reynolds.

Following cremation, graveside services will be held Thursday, December 17 at 11:00 at Summit Lawn Cemetery in Brazil.

French Funeral Home, in Brazil, has been entrusted with his care.
