
Maxine J. Silvers Chamberlain Gossman of Brazil, Indiana passed away January 3, 2021 at 6:45 am. Maxine was a homemaker and formerly worked for the Bureau of Motor Vehicles. She obtained and held a license as a Real Estate Broker. She was a member of the Meridian Street Church of Christ and remained a faithful servant throughout her life.
The 1938 graduate of Brazil High School was born on June 21, 1920 in Harco Illinois the daughter of the late Russell F. and Fannie Hunter (Law) Silvers. She married the love of her life Christopher Chamberlain in February 1939 who preceded her in death in 1967. She later married her beloved John T. Gossman in September 1973 who preceded her in death in 2016.
Survivors include daughters Christine K. Chamberlain Wheeler of Brazil Indiana; Judy S. Chamberlain Herndon Poole (Rondal) of Bargerstown, Indiana; and Anita L. Chamberlain James (Dick) of Brazil, Indiana. Seven grandchildren, Christopher (Shari) Wheeler; Shawn (Jodi) Wheeler, Shane (Szu-Ning) Wheeler; Julie Demaree; Lisa (Scott) Field, Heather S James; and Jason (Kara) James; 18 great grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Russell Silvers of Lakeland, FL; Stuart Silvers of Indianapolis, in, and two sisters, Marilyn G Silvers Ankney Plummer (Jim) of Spring Hill Fl; Carolyn K. Silvers Carpenter Dilger (Kenny) of Florida, several nieces and nephews. Also left behind is her faithful companion dog Lelo.
Visitation will be held between the hours of 12 to 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the French Funeral Home in Brazil, Indiana, with Brother Dan Spiceland officiating the service at 2:00. Burial will be at the Summit Lawn Cemetery.
