
Velma “Darlyne” Knauer, 63, of Carbon, Indiana, passed away at her home, unexpectedly, on January 17, 2021.
She was born on March 11, 1957, in Brazil, Indiana, the daughter of William and Creola (Lutz) Frazier. She attended Brazil High School and later graduated from Ivy Tech with a degree in Computer Science. She worked for Columbia House for a short time. She worked for Putnamville Correctional Facility for more than 30 years before retiring in 2018. Darlyne enjoyed shopping with her granddaughters, swimming, antiquing, vacationing in Florida with family and friends, and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents William and Creola Frazier; her husband Jay Knauer; her son Jonathan Metz; granddaughter Kaylee Metz; sister Veronica Stephenson; dear friend Beulah “Midge” Metz.
She is survived by her son Billy Metz and fiancé Tina of Seelyville; grandchildren: Caitlyn and Shelby; two sisters Sherry Floyd and Brenda Krider and husband Tony; a brother Danny Frazier; ex-husband Dave Metz; as well as many nieces nephews and extended family members and friends.
No services will be planned at this time. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. French Funeral Home, in Brazil, has been entrusted with her cremation arrangements.
