Wilbur Lee Warner, 85, of Brazil, Indiana, passed away at Union Hospital, on February 4, 2021 following a brief illness.

Wilbur was born on June 10, 1935, in Howesville, Indiana, the son of John and Arta (Orman) Warner. He attended Staunton High School and left school his senior year early to join the United States Marine Corps. He served for 3 years including a tour of duty in Korea. After returning home from the military he went to work at Arketex and then was proud to join the IBM family. He worked there for more than 30 years retiring in 1987. After retiring from IBM he worked at Pinkerton Security and with his son at Warner Lumber, all the while he worked for Miller Memorial Chapel as a greeter.

Wilbur loved spending time outdoors, mowing the lawn, gardening, and spending time with his family. Among his many attributes, Wilbur will be remembered for his kind, loving, and giving spirit, along with his strong will and determination to overcome adversity.

Wilbur attended Ebenezer Church and was a 50 plus year member of the Knightsville Masonic Lodge where he had served as Past Master.

He married Joyce Ann Heiliger on March 24, 1957; she preceded him in death on May 18, 2007.

In addition to his wife and his parents John and Arta Warner, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Lucille Wells, Dorothy Blanton, David Warner, Bessie Wells, Warren Warner, Norma Garlits, Kenneth Warner, and Wayne Warner. Also preceding him in death were Crystal Warner and John Warner Jr. in infancy and a great-grandson Tate Flick.

Wilbur is survived by his daughter: Leesa Nesty and husband Dr. Gary Nesty of Brazil; his son Gregory Warner and wife Kay of Brazil; grandchildren: Nicholas Warner (Adaria), Jamisen Baker (Kaleb), Mandy Shepherd (Ryan), Michelle Freeman, Ryan Flick (Erin); great-grandchildren: Dylan Nesty (Kaitlin), Laney Shepherd, Jared Shepherd, Kyan Warner, Shaylee Warner, Gracen Flick, Thatcher Flick, and Killian Baker; very special friend Dottie Wood; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members, friends, and neighbors.

Services will be held at Lawson – Miller Chapel, 1702 E. National Ave. Brazil, Indiana 47834 on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at 2:00pm with Pastor Bill Price officiating. Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home, on Friday, from 4-8pm.
