Donald Lee Whitsit, 69, passed away March 5, 2021 in the Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care. He was born November 5, 1951 in Terre Haute, to Jesse Whitsit Jr. and Mary Bashaw Roberts. Donald worked as a LPN at Union Hospital for 40 years. He attended Christway Church with his wife. He graduated from Garfield High School in 1970, and from Ivy Tech with a degree in nursing. Donald was an avid bowler and won several awards. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his father. He and his wife love to travel, and especially enjoyed their trips to New York, San Francisco, Washington D.C., and Florida.

Donald is preceded in death by his mother and father, and a sister, Terri Whitsit. He is survived by his wife, Lillian Hohn Whitsit (m.1984), daughters; Amber and Kristi Whitsit, Heather Gaines (Rick), stepson, Michael Grant Jr., brother, Michael Herman Whitsit, sisters; Nancy Riggs (Gary) and Billie Jo Clark (Kevin), grandchildren, Megan Kelsheimer, Jonathan Glasgow, and 3 others, along with Chihuahuas, Bruiser, Dolly, and Macy.

Services for Donald will be Monday, March 8, 2021 at 1 pm in Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 N. 13th Street, Terre Haute, Indiana, 47804.
