Shirley Delores Wilson, 82 of Terre Haute, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 27, 2021. She was born in Terre Haute on April 15, 1938, to John and Othelia Bernice (Roberts) Noble, and was the second of five children. She attended Booker T. Washington School. On October 6, 1952, she married Terry Wilson, Jr. and had seven sons, two of whom died at birth. She spent her life devoted to her faith, family and friends. She was an active member of Prince of Peace Missionary Baptist Church,and had previously been a member of St. Paul Baptist Church. She retired from Sony Records, formerly known as Columbia House Records, after more than 20 years of employment. Shirley was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and of the Terre Haute chapter of the NAACP for several years.Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Bessie Russi, Carolyn Wisdom, and Marilyn Henson; one brother, George Noble; a son, Leonard Wilson; and grandson, Maurice Wilson, Jr. She is survived by four sons, Sylvester (Evelyn) Wilson, of Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.; Philip (Mary K.) Wilson, of Terre Haute; Maurice Wilson, of Tavares, Fla.; and Richard (Diane) Wilson of McCordsville; her grandchildren, Angella, Mishala, Ashley, Darion, Leonard, Jr., Morgan, Shaunte, LaTasha, Cherae, Terry, Jade, Mia and Macy, and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.A funeral service celebrating Shirley’s life will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 10th, at Prince of Peace Missionary Baptist Church,2415 8thAve., Terre Haute, with visitation beginning at 11 a.m. and continuing until the time of service. Burial will follow at Grandview Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Greiner Funeral Home & Cremation Service.
