Karl Putoff, 84, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Sunday, March 7, 2021 with his family by his side.

Karl was born on July 16, 1936, in Clay City, the youngest son of Herschel “Dutch” Putoff and Ada (Shields) Putoff. He was a 1954 graduate of Clay City High School, where he and his brother Don were star basketball players for the Clay City Eels.

On April 22, 1976 he married the love of his life, Patricia K. Dillane. Karl retired from AT&T, but continued working for many additional years at Golden Stream, Target Warehouse, and Fort Ben Harrison State Park, which he truly enjoyed.

He was an avid walker at the park, also enjoyed sports, vacationing in Florida, and his pet Poodles. Karl was a member of Old Bethel United Methodist Church, in Indianapolis, for the last 20 years.

Karl was preceded in death by his father, mother, sister Norma Putoff, and brother Don Putoff.

Survivors include his wife Patricia, daughter Kimmi L. Cooper (Steve), son Stacey K. Putoff, sister Janet Hamilton (Clayton), grandchildren, Cory Deckard (Rusty), Steven Cooper II (Jennifer), great-grandchildren Kaleb, Kody, and Kendra Deckard, and Raelyn and Caden Cooper and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Graveside services will be at Maple Grove Cemetery on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at 1:00pm.
