John Edward Head, 76, of Brazil, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly, on March 16, 2021, at St. Vincent Clay Hospital.

John was born in Brazil, Indiana, the son of Edward and Waneda (Day) Head. He married Carol Sue King on October 30, 1965. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for various companies. For the past 22 years he has worked for the City of Brazil Water Department.

John enjoyed spending time outdoors. He especially enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family.

John was preceded in death by his parents: Edward and Waneda Head, his son John Head Jr., siblings: Robert Head, Bonnie Craig, Becky Archer, and Gloria Jean Head.

John is survived by his wife of 56 years Carol Head; his children: Tammy Hyde (Gilbert), Aaron Head (Kim), Ricky Head (Tracie), Chris Head (Brandy), Gloria Head (Albert Head), and Autumn Whitinger (Kent); many grandchildren, great-grandchildren; siblings: Orie “Boot” Head (Carolyn), Harry Head (Charlotte), Terry Head (Robin), Goldie Cheeseman; as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be at Lawson – Miller Chapel, 1702 E. National Ave. Brazil, Indiana 47834, on Friday, March 19, 2021 from 11am-1pm. Services will be at the funeral home, on Friday, at 1:00 with Pastor Jeff Bridgewater officiating. Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery.
