
Stephen Marshall Hood, 69, of Brazil, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly, on March 20, 2021, following a recent diagnosis of Pancreatic Cancer.
Steve was born on March 26, 1951, in Brazil, Indiana the son of James and Norma (Pell) Hood. He graduated from Brazil High School with the class of 1970. He served his country in the United States Army near the end of the Vietnam Era. Steve worked at Columbia Records, Great Dane Trailers, and Wabash Valley Hydraulics. Steve left Wabash Valley to start his own company, Hood Hydraulics, which has served as a longstanding Clay County business for nearly 40 years.
Steve enjoyed woodworking, motorcycles, and exercising at Brothers Gym. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting and was an accomplished marksman. But his favorite thing to do was to spend time with his grandkids Mia and Jax.
Steve will be remembered as a hard worker who had a big heart and loved his family and friends dearly. He adored his kids and grandkids and they adored him as well.
He is survived by his two kids Chrissy Modesitt and husband Derick of Carbon and John Hood of Brazil; grandkids Mia Modesitt and Jax Modesitt; a brother Jim Hood and wife Deb of Brazil and sister Robin Fox and husband Larry of Reelsville; nieces and nephews: Stuart, Andrea, Joe, and David; former wife of 35 years and mother of his children Debbie Hood; as well as numerous extended family members and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
