Floyd M. Johnson Jr., 87, of Terre Haute, passed away Monday May 17, 2021 surrounded by his family. Floyd was born October 26, 1933 in Terre Haute, IN to Floyd M. Johnson Sr. and Ozelma Archer Johnson. Floyd was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was a retired Mail Carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for over 30 years. Floyd was a very spiritual man studying the bible in English and Hebrew. He was a good Christian man, being very faithful to God. He was very loving and generous to his sisters, nieces and friends. He was especially close to his niece Donna and her family. He was very generous to all that needed help. He was a big supporter of many charities, including the Vigo County School Corporation Back Pack Program, Bikes for Tikes, Terre Haute Children’s Museum and Catholic Charities. He was an avid baseball and basketball fan, especially the Kansas Jay Hawks and enjoyed bowling in his spare time. He was a father and brother to all that he knew. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Betty, Carlie, Ada and Mary. He is survived by several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Services are scheduled for Friday May 21, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, IN 47804. Visitation will be on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the Funeral Home. Eveart Foster will be officiating. Burial will be at New Providence Cemetery in Paris, IL.
