Ruby Mae Swartz, 80 of West Terre Haute, passed away on Saturday, May 22, 2021 in her residence. She was born in Fayetteville, IN on August 13, 1940 to Opal Lake and Lucille Parker Lake.

Ruby was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She was known for raising and breeding champion chihuahuas, but caring for her family was her greatest joy.

Ruby is survived by her husband Kenneth Swartz, and three children; Tim Swartz (Carol) Valerie Still (Randy), and Danielle “Nikki” Pomeroy (Eric). Also surviving are her brothers and sisters; Joyce Baker, Evelyn Morgan, Pam Isom, Jerry Lake, Karen Speer, Theresa McGuire, Kathy Terry, and Paula Briner, as well as several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Brian Swartz, as well as two brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd St., West Terre Haute, In on Friday, May 28, 2021 at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in Highland Lawn Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Friday from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM in the funeral home.
