Shelly Anne Sanders, 56, of Carbon, Indiana, passed away at IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, on May 25, 2021 following an extended illness.

Shelly was born on December 13, 1964, in Brazil, Indiana, the daughter of Gale and Sonnie Sue (Urbain) Stevens. Shelly was a loving and passionate person who cared deeply for her loved ones as a mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She enjoyed reading, horses, and listening to music.

Shelly was preceded in death by her parents Gale Stevens and Sonnie Hinton and her step-father Otis Hinton.

She is survived by her 4 children: Ronald Pugh and wife Stephanie, Tamara Carroll, Travis Pugh, and Taylor Sanders; grandchildren: Marliy Jones, Kasyn Jones, Gunner Pugh, and Lakyn Pugh; a sister Tana Jones and husband Steve; and Michael Stevens both of Parke County; boyfriend Lewis Sanders as well as many extended family members and friends.

Graverside services will be held at Clear Run Cemetery, on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at 10am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to her family in her memory.
