Manda Marie Stanton, 54, of Terre Haute, passed away peacefully at home on August 9, 2021 with the love of her life by her side after a nine year battle with breast cancer. Mandy was born on October 11, 1966 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, IN. The youngest child of Donald Lewis Thompson and Mary Catherine Mills Thompson. Mandy attended Sugar Grove, Woodrow Wilson, Sarah Scott, and Terre Haute South Vigo High School, graduating in the class of 1985. She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Christopher Levi Morley. Survivors include her husband, William Scott Stanton, her daughter, Stacey Nichole Held (Nick), her sister, Sandy Thompson and her brother, Andy Thompson. Grandchildren include; Alyssa Buckallew, Joshua Held, Kyra Morley, Lincoln Morley, Lucas McNeely, Sydni McNeely, Trayce Stanton, Lincoln Stanton and River Stanton as well as many other family members and friends. Mandy worked in Real Estate for over 30 years and truly loved her Remax family. During her Real Estate career, Mandy obtained positions on the board of directors of the Indiana Association of Realtors, RPAC Co-Chairperson for the national Association of Realtors, Terre Haute Board of Directors (THARR) including being the Board President as well as many other realty and fundraising boards. She received numerous Real Estate Awards, including the Realtor Political Action Committee, Realtor of the Year, and Realtor Image Award. Mandy was a true inspiration, she loved life, she was a fighter, advocate for cancer survivors, always had a joke to tell to make you laugh and was a beautiful soul that loved her husband dearly. She enjoyed traveling with her “Sunshine” and going on many of their adventures. Those adventures included taking cruises, traveling to exotic Island, going on a land sea trip to Alaska, New York, Cancun, Cabo and too many other locations to list. Mandy said that her life was a true adventure and she had no regrets. A Celebration of Mandy’s Life will be held on Saturday August 21, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. at Maryland Community Church, Highway 46 Campus, 4600 South Highway 46, and Terre Haute, IN 47802. Visitation will be on Saturday August 21, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the church. Pastor Dustin Spitler will be officiating. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers the contributions be made to PINK of Terre Haute, envelopes will be available at the church.
