Sharon Kay McDaniel, 80, passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. Sharon was born in Farmersburg, Indiana on May 20, 1941, to Roy and Dorothy Metheny McDaniel.

She was a 1959 graduate of North Central High School. Following school, she held several positions taking care of children. She truly loved children. Her best friend and lifelong companion was her brother Don McDaniel, with whom she lived.

Sharon went to church all her life and most recently attended Higher Ground Christian Center in Terre Haute. Her hobbies were collecting dolls and working crossword puzzles. She supported charities for animals and children. Sharon is also remembered for helping take care of her paternal grandmother, Ollie McClony.

She is survived by her brother, Don McDaniel, of Terre Haute, an uncle, Harold Metheny (Diane) of Southport, and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Greiner Funeral Home is handling arrangements. A memorial picnic for family and friends will be held this summer.
