TERRE HAUTE, Ind –  More than 1,800 students crossed the commencement stage Saturday and became graduates of Indiana State University.

Of the 2,404 students who were eligible, 1,397 undergraduate and 462 graduate students signed up to participate in either the morning or afternoon commencement exercises at the Hulman Center Saturday.

It was the first of such events for President Deborah Curtis, who became the 12th president of Indiana State on Jan. 3.
