Rockville Man Arrested After Crashing Into Amish Buggy

PARKE COUNTY, Ind –  A Rockville man is facing charges after a crash Saturday on State Road 59 near State Road 236.

A report from the Parke County Sheriff says that a van driven by 57 year old Steve Williams crashed into a horse drawn Amish buggy.

The driver of the buggy was not identified. That person suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to a hospital. He was last listed in stable condition. The buggyy drivers wife was not seriously hurt.

Williams admitted to police that he had been drinking alcohol.  He was given a field sobriety test and a breath test. Jail staff say that he tested at .21%BAC.

Williams was charged with operating while intoxicated and is being held on $8,000 bond with no 10% allowed.
