TERRE HAUTE, Ind – The Terre Haute Police Department is morning the loss of one of their own.

K-9 Diesel was born in 2006 in the Netherlands and was brought to the United States at 18 months old.

In July 2007 Diesel graduated from K-9 school and became a member of the Terre Haute Police Department.

He was trained in narcotics detection and helped not only the THPD but several federal and local agencies throughout the years.

He participated in 923 deployments, 245 arrests and the seizure of more than $1.8 million in narcotics.

Diesel also participated in the Vohne LIche Kennels Olympics where he won several awards including 13 1^st place, 7 second place and 6 third place trophies.

He was laid to rest August 16^th just shy of his 14^th birthday.
