VERMILLION COUNTY, Ind – Wednesday morning Vermillion County Deputies arrested 38-year-old Charlene Williams on four counts of animal cruelty.

The warrant stemmed from an investigation that began last Thursday (7/18/19) when officers were called with a tip about animal neglect at 5030 Elm Tree Road in Eugene.

During the investigation police found three dead goats on the property and one in extremely bad health. Also, on the property were two horses and a donkey that were in poor health. The overall living conditions, lack of food, clean drinking water and extreme heat were factors in removing the animals from the property.

The Parke-Vermillion Humane Society and other residents are providing care for the animals at other locations.

Williams is being held on a $7000.00 bond with 10% allowed.
