VIGO COUNTY, Ind. – The Vigo County Council meets at 6 p.m. tonight at the Court House Annex and the big topic will be a new jail.

The council could vote on whether or not to build a new jail and if there should be a ,75% increase in the county income tax to pay for it.

The increase would also provide some money to the county 911 system and to county volunteer fire departments.

A site for the new jail has not yet been selected.
