VIGO COUNTY, Ind – The iconic Clabber Girl billboard on Terre Haute’s east side has been restored and is back up.

Local artist Becky Hochhalter was commissioned to perform the restoration over the past several weeks.

 

She said that she worked to make sure that it was accurate:

 

And that this restoration project was meaningful to her:

 

She painted everything twice and custom blended the colors

 

What is believed to be the oldest billboard in Indiana was originally constructed in the 1930’s.

Hochhalter said that the inner workings on the clock that goes on top were in very good shape and it is going back up very soon.
