VERMILLION COUNTY, Ind – Vermillion County Police say that late last Friday (3/15/19) around 11:20 pm, they received 911 calls related to an individual driving a 4-wheeler, at high rates of speed, on CR 775 S and 400 E.

When arrived they found a 4-wheel ATV traveling eastbound on CR 775 S, east of Old Hwy 63 at a high rate of speed in a residential area.

Deputies stopped the vehicle and identified the driver as 33-year-old John Z. Pike, of Hillsdale, IN.

Officers say that Pike was continuously arguing with deputies and demanding that the others be arrested. The other parties involved also stated that Pike threatened to shoot their dogs when they expressed concern for the animal’s safety. It was decided that the case would be sent to the Prosecutor’s Office for further review and all involved were told to separate and go home.

Police say that instead of leaving Pike stopped in front of the other party’s home again but when Deputies told him to leave, he began to argue and that eventually led to his arrest for disorderly conduct.  Pike tried to resist during his arrest as well.

Her was taken to the Vermillion County Jail on charges of Intimidation, Reckless Driving, Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Law Enforcement.

Officers say that they have been called to the area several times in the past week for the same issue.
