TERRE HAUTE, Ind.– A six-year-old girl was hospitalized after receiving and electrical shock.

It happened in a home near South 11 ½ Street.

Fire officials say that they believe that the girl touched a wall in the home that was wet due to a leaky roof.

The child reportedly suffered burns, that were not life threatening.

Fire Chief Jeff Fisher told us that fire fighters on scene said that the girl’s polyester pants melted from the shock.
