Over 30,000 Cases Of COVID-19 In Illinois

CHICAGO —Deaths and the number of COVID-19 cases continue to climb.

As of Sunday there were a total of  30,357 cases and 1290 deaths in the state.

There were over 1585 new cases Saturday and 125 deaths.

Locally there have been no cases of COVID-19 in Edgar County.  There have been four cases in Clark County and no deaths.

Officials say that they growth in cases is slowing but Governor J.B. Pritzker said that the state is not at its peak yet.

The current stay at home order expires April 30th.

Pritzker said he’s particularly concerned that the rate of ascent for the virus in rural areas caught up to, and in some areas surpassed the rate in urban areas.
