Helen Bernice Johnson, 93, of Plainfield and formerly of Terre Haute, passed away Tuesday October 27, 2020 in Avon Indiana. Helen was born in East Alton, IL on May 10, 1927 to Herman Cunningham and Minerva Moore Cunningham. She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. George Orthodox Church, and the Eagles. She enjoyed traveling, working crossword puzzles, crocheting and most importantly spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Edith Christine Lewis Dunning and a son, Phillip Michael Lewis, 8 brothers and sisters, as well as her husband, Charles Johnson. She is survived by one son, Saleem John Nasser and his wife Ruth of Plainfield. She is survived by a sister, Peggy Cunningham of Ohio. She is survived by grandchildren; Bernard Dunning, Rebecca Dunning, Kathy Dunning, Pat Dunning, Camille Barnes, Kristoffer S. Nasser and Ashley Anne Nasser Watson, step granddaughter, Rachel Fisher, as well as many great and great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Services are scheduled for Friday October 30, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, IN 47804. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until service time at the Funeral Home. Father Paul Fuller will be officiating. Burial will be at Highland Lawn Cemetery.
