On Saturday May 8, 2021, Fred Everett Fagg of Clearwater, Florida passed into Heaven at the age of 89. Fred was born on November 7, 1931, in Terre Haute, Indiana to Everett P. and Esther V. (Clingerman) Fagg.

In June of 1955, he married the love of his life Sheila L. Dietz. They were married for 66 years and together they had four beautiful children.

He served in the army during the Korean War as the lead tank mechanic. After returning from the war, Fred joined his father in the family farm equipment business as farmhand and mechanic. He worked his way up in the family business eventually taking over as the owner of Fagg Oliver Sales. In 1981, he began working at the Terre Haute Federal Penitentiary as a Diesel Instructor to the inmates. In 1989, he and Sheila moved to Titusville, Florida where he was the lead mechanic for Johnson Controls on the Titan 4 Missile Tower and Launchpad at Cape Canaveral. In 1993, retiring from the Cape, he returned to the Terre Haute Federal Penitentiary as the lead Diesel Instructor. He finally retired for good in 2011 at the age of 80. In 2015, he and Sheila moved to Clearwater, Florida to fully enjoy retirement.

He is survived by his beautiful wife, Sheila, of 66 years, his four children, Sheri (Ed) Ring, Cathie (Steve) Bryant, Gary (Laura Hadley) Fagg, Rhonda (Charlie) Cecil. His ten grandchildren, Misty Walker, Micah (Darin) Hay, Jason Ring, Chad (Jennifer Brossman) Ring, Greg (Deena) Cecil, Stacie (Mike) Rehmel, Leslee (Brian) McNeely, Linsee (Norman) Bridgewater, Jeremy Fagg, and Rachel (Jason) Dennis. He had 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. In addition, he is survived by his sister Wilma Modesitt, along with several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents Everett P. and Esther V. Fagg.

Services will be held on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at the Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd St., West Terre Haute, IN. Visitation will be from 1:00-3:00 pm with the service to follow at 3:00pm, with Dr. Don Osborne officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Riley.
