Terre Haute, In. – A historic, 118-year old building along Wabash Avenue in downtown Terre Haute is in the midst of a restoration project that actually started nearly 4 years ago. What was once the Terre Haute First National Bank has been vacant since 2008. While there had been talks of demolition, the Indiana Landmarks Foundation stepped in to renovate the building. It’s currently in what is called the interior stabilization phase. Indiana Landmarks officials called the building ‘underutilized’ and hopes to see a new tenant move in eventually. The restoration is set to be complete in July.
